Montrose Museum

Montrose Museum and Art Gallery is located in a neo-classical building and charts the life of the town and art of the people of Montrose and Angus.
The museum has a wide range of displays of local interest covering archaeology, Montrose history, the Picts, Montrose silver, maritime and natural history.
Visitors can learn about the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, Pictish civilization, and the east coast whaling industry. Objects also tell the story on the broader history of Scotland, including the role of Montrose in the Jacobite uprising.
The art gallery has a changing selection of local paintings and exhibitions, and hosts afternoon talks, evening events and children's activities.
Situated in Montrose’s Mid Links, behind the High Street, diagonally opposite Montrose Academy. Parking for cars and coaches in nearby streets, sales area, toilets.
